This article provides tips for determining the level of security exposure you could risk when outsourcing and suggests specific IT activities that probably pose the lowest risk.

Making the right decision depends on asking the right questions and understanding the security factors--includuing laws and regulations--inherent in IT activities that could affect the level of control you could have over sensitive data. 

This article suggests asimple four step process:

1) Classify the data

2) Categorize your company

3) Select your vendor

4) Gravitate towards lower risk activites
